In this short taster, we find our protagonist Karsi returning to the grassy field where her brother-in-arms, Farron, fell. With the Royal Lovanian Empire closing in on her trail, she steals a fleeting moment to pay her respects, only to confront the resentment and guilt that have haunted her ever since.

They say grass is a sign of life...
…is that why they call it irony? Because of how hard and cold it is when it hits you?
I'm being hunted. We both were, but never like this. Not quite ‘empire’s most-wanted’ status, but it sure as hell feels that way.
They're closing in on me, and there's only so many corners I can cut before I run myself into a dead end. Yet, I still find time to come back here.
I used to visit more frequently, nearer to when it happened… every time it was somewhat safe to. I was always hoping you'd be here waiting for me. But it was just your blood, getting blacker and more coagulated as time passed.
Over days.
Then weeks.
Then months, and...
God. Has it really been a year already?
It's almost like time jogs next to me while I'm on the run. Is that Lady Fate, or whatever sadist higher powers exist out there... showing me sympathy? By speeding it up so I grow old and die sooner, knowing I'm too stubborn to roll over instead?
What am I doing?
I'm trying to do something honourable, for once. I’m trying to pay my respects to you, but I’m multitasking. I can’t stop fighting myself. I can’t kick this stupid game of 'What if?' that kicked off when you left me...
You left me.
I’m trying to pay my respects… but you left me.
Here.
Alone, Farron.
I’m trying to pay you something— anything, but the truth is…
